Position Summary
The objective of the Intensive Support and Supervision Program (ISSP) is to provide the youth justice system with an effective alternative to custody that enhances community safety and provides effective rehabilitation services to young persons diagnosed with mental health disorders. The Child and Family Therapist, ISSP, will provide client-centered assessments and mental health treatment services and support to clients who are experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural problems, who are involved in the Youth Justice System, and who have a mental health diagnosis. Using an integrated and collaborative approach, the Child and Family Therapist, ISSP will provide clinical leadership to coordinate and implement an overall treatment plan in a multi-disciplinary context.

Permanent part-time (21 hours weekly)

Hourly Rate/Salary
Minimum $35.38 to maximum $43.04 per hour; salary commensurate with education and experience

Qualifications
- Four (4) year bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or an undergraduate degree that allows the graduate to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy, with appropriate registration
- Registered as a regulated health professional in the Province of Ontario and able to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy
- Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience
- Knowledge of criminal justice system, laws, and legal language
- Experience working with children, youth, and families
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated knowledge of a full range of psychotherapeutic and assessment techniques to assess, plan, coordinate and implement specific clinical protocols
- Proficient software skills using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook)
- Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, with a willingness to contribute and lead in the culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events for clients and their families/caregivers, colleagues, other community members and yourself
- Demonstrates professionalism in dealing with highly confidential information and situations
