This 5 week group is suited for clients who have strong communication abilities (either word speaking or proficient AAC users), who are able to effectively share their own insights and opinions within a respectful group of peers who are jointly working to develop their self advocacy abilities and whom are keen to discuss topics of interest to adults with developmental disabilities.

Each week will focus on a different element of disability experience, and will be highlighted through the use of media (film/TV).  Participants will jointly watch the selected media, and engage in a facilitated discussion related to the material presented.

Registration to this group will include a brief intake interview with a Communicative Disorders Assistant to ensure that clients are matched to the best communication skill building group for their strengths and goals.  This group is less structured than our Communication Coffee Club, and led by the interests of the participants with facilitator support.
