Position Summary
The Direct Accountability Program (DAP) is a voluntary adult diversion program within the Ontario Court of Justice offered through the Crown Attorney’s Office. The Community Justice Worker (CJW) will complete intake and assessment to inform alternatives to prosecution for DAP-eligible adults who have been charged with minor criminal offenses. The primary role of the CJW is to provide case management for clients participating in diversion programs, and to collaborate with Crown Attorneys, duty counsel, and lawyers to ensure that legal charges are withdrawn within prescribed timelines.
Hours of Work
Part-time contract (28 hours per week) ending September 20, 2025, with possibility of extension
Location
- Bracebridge, ON
Hourly Rate/Salary
Minimum $25.87 to maximum $31.47 per hour; salary commensurate with education and experience

Qualifications
- Three (3) year bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences
- Minimum of one (1) year of related work experience
- Understanding of police and court processes as well as criminal code legislation is essential
- Knowledge of relevant local resources available to clients
- Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management, communication, and computer skills
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, with a willingness to contribute and lead in the culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events for clients and their families/caregivers, colleagues, other community members and yourself
- Demonstrates professionalism in dealing with highly confidential information and situations
- Successful applicants will be required to provide:
- Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
- A valid Ontario class G driver’s licence and use of a reliable motor vehicle; insurability on Agency vehicle insurance policy
- Clear Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search
- Preference will be given to bilingual (French/English) candidates
