Position Summary
The Financial Accountant role encompasses comprehensive financial management of routine accounting functions, including maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data, ensuring regulatory compliance, offering strategic financial support, and driving process improvements. Working closely with Agency Leadership, their responsibilities include preparing financial statements, maintaining audit-ready financial records, preparing budgets, forecast reports, and supporting financial analysis. The Financial Accountant is responsible to actively engage and support clients, and act as a point of escalation relating to client financial matters. They actively seek process enhancements and automation to optimize financial operations, ensuring financial resilience and excellence.

Hourly Rate/Salary
Minimum $31.87 to maximum $38.78 per hour; salary commensurate with education and experience

Qualifications
- Four (4) Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or relevant education
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation an asset
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in financial accounting, demonstrating a deep understanding of Canadian accounting standards, and regulatory compliance
- Experience in a non-profit organization or in using Accounting Standards for Not-For-Profit Organization (ASNPO) is preferred
- Proficiency in advanced accounting software inclusive of Enterprise Resource Planning
- Mastery of Excel and financial software; advanced software skills using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook); experience using Client and Human Resources Information Systems an asset
- Exceptional analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
