Learning to Play is a group-based clinic designed to help support children in learning through play by interacting with the environment and their peers, encouraging children to engage with different types of materials and transition independently using a variety of transition strategies. We will also work on broadening your child’s interests by exposing children to new types of toys and modelling how to play with them appropriately. Topics covered include different domains of play, how to incorporate transitions in play, introducing activity schedules and how to tie it all together. Parents are additionally supported in the implementation of play-based learning through coaching opportunities, tip sheets and take-home assignments.
