Sensory Sensitive Halloween Celebrations for Children with Autism
Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca (Hands) is hosting free Sensory Sensitive Halloween Celebrations for children and youth with Autism, and their families, across Northeastern Ontario. Sensory Sensitive events provide children with Autism the opportunity to practice trick-or-treating and other activities associated with Halloween in a safe and inclusive environment.
“Halloween can be a fun time for children and their families, but it can also come with some challenging moments”, says Dr. Karen Grattan-Miscio, Senior Manager of Autism Services at Hands. “Ensuring an enjoyable Halloween with your child may require some advanced planning and practicing. Our team of Autism experts will be available during the events to provide support for you and your child as they learn the unique traditions of Halloween”.
Hands is hosting three events across the Region. Walk-ins are welcome; however pre-registration is appreciated to assist with planning efforts. Call 1.800.668.8555 ext. 1333.
Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca continues to offer Autism Services to families across Northeastern Ontario, including free weekly consultations, direct behavioural services, seminars and clinics.
