What does Child and Youth Mental Health do?
We help children and youth under 18 years, and their families, who are struggling with mental health concerns.
Our services are tailored to meet your needs, and we offer many different services depending on what you’re looking for. Our team is here to help you create a plan that best meets your needs and situation.
If you are in crisis, please call 1-844-287-9072 to access the Child and Youth Mental Health Crisis Line. You can also visit SomewheretoTurn.ca to learn more about the Crisis Line or explore our crisis resources.
How do I get started?
Your first step to accessing our Child and Youth Mental Health services is through Hands Counselling Clinics. Counselling Clinics are offered both online and in-person. Once you have called and registered for an appointment, you will get instructions for connecting with a therapist.
During our Counselling Clinics, you will talk with one of our registered therapists. They will listen to your concerns and help you take the next step in your journey. You may access our Counselling Clinics more than once if needed.
- You would like a single therapy session or mental health check-up
- You are seeking additional mental health services while waiting for an appointment
- You or your family is in an urgent situation
Appointments are available:

What if I need ongoing support?
Counselling Services are longer-term supports than what is offered by our Counselling Clinics. Counselling Services can be individual or group-based sessions.
These services are tailored to meet the needs of each child, youth, and family. Right away, we will have a conversation with you about your needs and goals, while respecting culture, family, language, and community. This will help us decide on the setting, frequency, and goals of service.
We can help with mental health challenges, including:
- Attention difficulties
- Eating disorders, in partnership with North Bay Regional Health Centre
- Emotional dysregulation
- Divorce and separation
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- School refusal
Hands Counselling Clinics are your first point of access to our longer-term Counselling Services. Contact us to book an appointment or get more information.
