One-of-a-Kind Donation Brings Therapy Room to Life
(August 22, 2019) Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca (Hands) recently received a one-of-a-kind gift of artwork from the Ontario Hooking Craft Guild (OHCG), whose members across Northern and Western Ontario completed a large design of many ‘hands’ in celebration of the Guild’s 50th anniversary. The OHCG chose to create this piece as it symbolizes the many people who contributed to the art, as well as themes of friendship, unity and the caring nature of helping hands. The artwork was donated to Hands to display at their newest North Bay location, which opened last year at 391 Oak Street East.
Wanda Wallace, a member of the OHCG said “Our group had two fibre art rugs to donate, with one staying in the North East Region. The OHCG entrusted me to find a location whereby families would enjoy viewing the art pieces. I chose Hands in North Bay because it was fitting for their request and seemed perfect with the many hooked hands.”
Hands TheFamilyHelpNetwork.ca offers a variety of community supports for families, including services in Autism, Child and Youth Mental Health, Early Intervention and Developmental Disabilities across the North.
